However, it is quite surprising as no one was expecting it as most of the rumors are about smartphones becoming tablets taking advantage of foldable screen technology and capabilities as we all know how it has fared to the South Korean brand Samsung with Its Galaxy Fold and Huawei with a Mate X.

Before getting excited, it should be noted that this new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is just an example since the device will go on sale in 2020. For this reason, the well-known Chinese company Lenovo has provided details that we will find in this laptop since everything was focused on the folding screen and its extraordinary capabilities.

While Lenovo unveiled this all-new ThinkPad X1 at the ‘Accelerate’ event in Florida, USA, where it made the first demonstration of this ThinkPad X1, which will be a laptop and the start of a family of products with a standard folding screen.

However, the fact is that the ThinkPad X1 is not the final name; Speaking of the features, I clarify that it will have a 13-inch OLED screen manufactured by the South Korean giant LG Display that will offer a 2K resolution.

Plus, it’s an ‘always connected, always on a laptop; so it will always be on and connected, which surprisingly will feature an Intel processor and Windows 10 OS, although details of the processor model and version of Microsoft’s operating system have not yet been given. It will support Stylus and, according to Lenovo, it is based on the folding technology developed by LG Display, the same technology that we have already seen in its rollable TV.

According to Lenovo, it is not a smartphone or a tablet, nor is it a convertible, since it is a folding PC that combines the productivity of the laptop with the portability of the smartphone. Before this announcement, some well-known US media portals have already had the opportunity to test this ThinkPad X1 prototype. They justified what Lenovo is and what it has done.

However, the most surprising thing is that the folding area was not seen, since the hinge was hidden on the outside thanks to a leather coating, a material used throughout the exterior of the device, which makes the device more premium.

According to the well-known media platform The Verge, the screen doubles as Lenovo promises, and it does it very well. Windows works quite well, although there are still some details that need to be polished, such as hardware improvements. Apart from all these trend, the well-known Chinese company Lenovo says that the ThinkPad X1 will go on sale in early 2020, and by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023 we will have the rest of the features of this new folding laptop.
